Breezy Midi, Cobblestone City: Spring In San Juan

last month i finally got to check something major off my bucket list: wandering Old Town San Juan in Puerto Rico. it's such a beautiful city and the colorful buildings are 100 times more amazing in person. this outfit post is a favorite because i'm absolutely obsessed with this Cleobella dress- it's a fun midi length, super comfy, and looks awesome by itself or cinched with a cool belt. in this case, i paired it with one of my main wardrobe staples these days- the B Low the Belt Bri Bri in black & silver. they make this belt in like 10 color combos and i'm pretty sure i need to get them all. it's SO versatile. finished off with some super comfy sandals by Dolce Vita x Vanessa Mooney, this outfit was perfect for wandering the gorgeously uneven cobblestone streets of Old San Juan.

Put A Pineapple On It: 10 Sweet Decor Finds

pineapples: they're not just for leggings! I think by now you guys know we're pretty major pineapple fanatics here at WTD, and today i'm rounding up 10 of my fave ways to bring this incredibly popular fruit into your home. even though the pineapple vibes have been trending for a good couple years now in the decor world, i don't think they're going away any time soon. on top of being a delicious snack that goes great with various types of booze, something about the pineapple shape just makes a really cool graphic statement. if you're looking to branch out beyond the basic vintage pineapple cocktail shaker (which is awesome, but its just the tip of the iceberg) we've got you covered. so put on those piña colada leggings, make yourself a spicy pineapple marg and get ready to shop your way to a summer-ready space:

Photo Diary: Barcelona Part III

the third and final installment of my Barcelona photo diary is here! i took soooo many pictures on this trip and it was incredibly hard not to post 5671 pics all over the blog. you can check out part I here and part II here if you missed them. i mentioned this in the previous Barca posts, but the best thing about this trip was the fact that we spent 10 whole days just hanging out in Barcelona. when we booked, i worried it could be boring to stay in one place that long, but that could not have been farther from the truth. i felt like we were JUST getting settled when it was time to leave! i would absolutely go live in this city for a year at the drop of a hat.

Festival Ready: Sunnies, Sequins, and Laced-Up Leather

now that we're officially over a week into spring (!) i'm back with another festival outfit inspo post today. our first festival ready outfit post was my take on a boho sundress look, and this one switches it up with cut-offs, a graphic tee, and some over-the-knee lace-up boots. if you've been to any of my music gigs in the last year or so, you are probably familiar with this vintage sequin vest (from Closet Case Vintage in Nashville, TN) because i am fully OBSESSED with it. it honestly tops off any and every outfit perfectly. i can't imagine my life without it. i love this look for festival season because it's incredibly comfy, and, unlike a sundress, shorts are a good option if the desert gets a little windy. nothing kills my vibe at an outdoor concert like trying to hold down my dress the whole time.

Roundup: Wide Leg Jumpsuits For Summer

it's officially SPRING YOU GUYS!! ok, maybe it's not officially spring JUST yet (another week to go maybe?) but it finally feels like it because the sun is out til 7pm!! makes such a major difference. today i'm rounding up 6 of my favorite wide leg jumpsuit looks for spring break and summer, because this style has been ALL over for awhile now. wide leg pants and one pieces were big this fall, and i'm loving the way designers have reworked this look in fun, flowy prints for the warmer weather around the corner. i feel like this look is so widespread that whenever i've been out shopping lately, the theme of this season is "surprise, i'm actually pants." meaning, i'll pick up what i THINK is a cute maxi dress off the rack and voila- it's actually pants. not mad at it though.

Color Crush: Peacock Blue

peacock blue - the color i'm currently obsessing over - seems to already be a hot hue for 2017. lately i feel like this incredibly gorgeous shade of blue/green is EVERYWHERE and i'm so into it. peacock blue is such a perfect mix of cool blues and cozy greens and it works for everything from kitchen cabinets to date night eye makeup to living room walls. this color can be rich and make a giant statement or it can be surprisingly fresh and calming. not to mention, its namesake bird is pretty incredible. apparently there are tons of them in southern california, because literally everyone but me has seen one running around somewhere, but i have yet to stumble across any LA native peacocks. here's hoping.

Photo Diary: Barcelona Part II

happy weekend guys! today i'm sharing part II of a three series photo diary from my trip to Barcelona last fall (if you missed part I check it out here). this trip was incredible in every sense of the word, and i literally cannot wait to go back. in part I i chronicled the first half of our stay, which was on the Barceloneta beach. i think my favorite thing about this city is that it has all the benefits and amenities of an awesome beach vacay while also having this amazing history, architecture and culture. i feel like that's kind of a rare combination and Barcelona is a perfect mix of both in my opinion.  for the second half of our trip, we packed up our beach bags and moved to an apartment in the Gracia neighborhood, which quickly became my favorite part of the entire city.

Stitch, Please: Embroidery Is Everywhere

as an avid lover of everything seventies, i'm extremely excited to see that embroidered denim's comeback is still going strong. this trend has been building up over the last year or so, with people personalizing their jeans at Madewell (and now Revolve offers it too) and dressing up their denim in bright threads in bold patterns, and it seems to just keep on growing.  i was never much of a cross stitch gal when i was young (waaaay too impatient) but i absolutely love the look and texture of embroidery on clothes. there's something extra awesome about it on denim and jeans, because it really allows what would otherwise be a basic, blank slate piece to become the feature of your outfit.

Photo Diary: Venice and Burano, Italy

not too long ago i shared part I of my barcelona trip from last year (and parts II and III are coming soon!) but i'm just REALLY feeling the italy vibes this week, and wanted to share my photo diary from Venice last summer. i gotta say- if you're having a hard time deciding which cities to hit on your trip to italy, you cannot miss this one. the tough thing about italy is that literally every area and little town is amazing, so it's really hard to narrow it down when you have a finite amount of time. Venice is absolutely CRAZY though. it's unlike anything i've ever seen, and even if you just spend a day or two i think it's a must see.

The Lazy B*tch's Guide To Valentine DIYs

if you guys haven't already noticed, i am a relatively lazy DIYer. don't get me wrong, i totally love a good DIY project, but i tend to stick to the two extreme ends of the spectrum. which is to say- i'm totally down to spend an entire weekend at home depot buying tons of supplies to make a sick new industrial coffee table from scratch, or i'm diving into something that's gonna take me about a glass of wine to complete. i don't do too well in that middle territory where a project involves a bunch of crazy steps just to create one pot holder, you know? so i figured with valentine's day already hovering in the near future (2017 you can sloooooow down now thanks) i'd share some of my fave easy ideas for fun DIY gifts.

Style Files: Bold, Gold and Eyelet

all the rain has FINALLY stopped here in socal (or so it seems) so i thought we'd celebrate with some sunny day photos. i'm really really happy that the off-the-shoulder look seems to be sticking around longer and longer - personally, i hope it never goes away. i fell hard for this poppy hued eyelet top from free people, and kept it casual with some ripped blue jeans and a fun beaded headband. i'm kind of a more is more gal when it comes to jewelry, so we piled on the gold and kind of just kept going.

Photo Diary: Barcelona Part I

one of the major highlights of 2016 was my ten day trip to Barcelona. ever since i first saw photos of Gaudi's Park Güell architecture, this city has been at the very top of my bucket list. though we were tempted to max out our trip with as many cities in Spain as we could, we decided to just spend ten whole days in Barcelona and it was truly the best decision ever. we did this same thing when I first went to Rome in 2010, and it REALLY allowed us to slow down and get to know the city. if you're planning on heading to Barcelona anytime soon (or anywhere awesome for that matter) i'd highly recommend spending as much time in one place as possible if you're like me and love to wander and explore. since we were hanging in the city for 10 days, we decided to split up our trip and do half of it by the beach and half in another hood.

Sign Me Up: Light Up Neon Sign Decor

what is it about a sign that lights up that's so exciting? there must be a multitude of answers, because these things are everywhere right now. i think for me it goes back to when i was a kid and was totally obsessed with building forts. as any skilled, experienced fort-builder knows, creating an awesome ambiance and vibe inside the fort is KEY. remember the little girls' tent fort thing in The Holiday?? yeah, that's what we're going for here. i distinctly remember how i used to try to confiscate our christmas tree lights to line the interior of the fort, and i think the reason light up signs are so cool in homes might be because they cast that same cozy, cool glow over the whole room. basically i want one for every room in the house.

Artist Spotlight: Leah Reena Goren

our first artist spotlight of 2017 is on Brooklyn-based leah reena goren, an awesome illustrator i discovered while wandering through some of New Orleans' coolest boutiques last week. chances are you've already seen her work all over the map (she counts anthropologie and ban.do as clients among many others) and it's not hard to see why. i love her unique perspective, especially the way she portrays portraits and people. also i'm completely in love with the way she mixes different hues of pinks and reds. i picked up one of her prints at Saint Claude Social Club in NOLA last week and I can't wait to add to it my studio gallery wall. check out some of our fave sketches and projects from her archives:

Roundup: 6 Passport Covers We Love

when i first got my US passport, it was 2007 and i was booked to play on a cruise that would go through Jamaica the following year. i had no idea how many amazing overseas adventures that passport would witness over the next decade, and it's been incredibly fun to collect stamps from all over the world. fast forward ten years, and here i am in 2017 saying a bittersweet goodbye to passport #1 getting ready to trade him in for a brand new one. in the spirit of new beginnings and all of the cool places passport #2 is going to see over the next ten years, i thought i'd round up some of my favorite adorable passport covers. i've learned over the years that it's really important to keep yours looking nice, because if it's beat up enough it can cause issues at customs (which means less time eating croissants in Paris, and i'm really into eating croissants in Paris).

17 Ways To Rock Pantone's Color of 2017

OMG it's 2017 everyone!!! hope you all had a fabulous weekend ringing in the new year. i had a blast celebrating with friends in Cabo (same way i celebrated last year) and there were plenty of outrageous beach fireworks and margaritas to go around. i can't believe how 2016 seemed to fly but also seemed to go on forever in some ways. it was definitely somewhat of a weird year filled with lots of ups and downs, but overall i'm grateful for so many of 2016's great stories, new friends, and cool adventures. that being said, i am SO READY for 2017. extremely excited to start fresh. one of my favorite things about another trip around the sun is finding out pantone's new color of year pick, so i thought i'd compile some inspo for this year's hue- GREENERY.

Photo Diary: New York City Holiday

ahhh here we are amidst that awkward stretch of time between the holidays and NYE. i kind of love this little lull at the very end of the year- absolutely nobody is doing anything or bugging you for anything work related (hopefully), and you don't quiiiiiite have to jump into that get-super-healthy-cause-it's-a-new-year thing just yet. since i'm kind of still in holiday mode over here, i wanted to share some pics from my recent trip through one of my fave cities in the whole world during what is, in my opinion, its most beautiful season. i played a show in New York City last week at Irving Plaza, and thankfully had a couple days to explore a few new places and some of my favorite familiar spots. here are some highlights:
