All in home

five friday faves

happy almost weekend! can you believe we’re basically already in the middle of April? i feel like while March is always slow, this month is flying. it’s been a really exciting spring season and we have a lot of exciting updates to share soon here on WTD!

we’re back with another edition of this month’s favorites to kick off the weekend! here’s a quick recap of a few things i’m loving right now:

jalapeño and blood orange mezcal margaritas

with spring in full swing, we have alfresco cocktails on the brain. specifically, mezcal margaritas - featuring a bit of spicy jalapeño and the gorgeous bright red citrus flavor of blood oranges.

even if it’s not quite warm enough to sip these babies outside yet, we think it’s worth getting in the spirit of outdoor drinking as soon as possible. not to mention, this is a great cocktail recipe to have in your back pocket with cinco de mayo about a month away.

3 perfect wine storage solutions for small spaces

ever since I moved to Paris last year, I’ve been determined to find the best small space storage solutions out there for just about everything. there are so many creative ways to get more out of a space, but it can be overwhelming figuring it out. even though my new LA apartment is slightly bigger than my little place in Paris (see my Paris apartment tour here in case you missed it!) it still very much qualifies as small space living.

after spending some time at my favorite winery Tobin James in Paso Robles, California this month, my house is recently stocked up with a lot of wine and nowhere to put it. despite the fact that i’m sure the wine will be gone much faster than i think, i still need a place to put it in the meantime. today i’m sharing three of my favorite wine storage solutions for small spaces!

spring is right around the corner and it feels so good!

i don’t know about you guys, but for me getting that whole extra hour of sunlight during the day is a total gamechanger. i just got back from a week of sunshine in the caribbean and i’m so excited that we’re all headed for longer, warmer days soon.

here’s a little recap of a few things i’m loving this month!

house tour: kate's apartment in paris

if you follow us on insta you’re probably well aware that i (kate) spent half of last year living in Paris, France. it was always a bucket list dream of mine to live overseas for a long period of time, and my husband and i finally decided to take the plunge last May.

i have a lot of posts coming soon about my favorite spots, wardrobe, and what i learned living overseas, but today i wanted to share some photos of my little Parisian apartment! this spot has all the quintessential Parisian charm and was the perfect place to call home for six months.

6 valentine's day gifts to give yourself this year

it’s that time of year again, and as we strap ourselves in and prepare for the annual avalanche of over-the-top instagram captions from picture perfect couples we love to hate, it’s important not to forget to show ourselves a little love. whether you’ve found your picture perfect relationship or you’re planning to spend the day with a great bottle of red and some netflix (which could also qualify as a picture perfect relationship let’s be real) we think you deserve some self love this V-Day.

here are six ideas for fun and just the right amount of fancy valentine’s day gifts to give yourself this week:

happy friday!

the sunshine is finally back here in LA, which means everyone is now only super stressed on the freeways instead of being insanely emotionally off-the-rails stressed - which is how all angelenos are in the rain. i’m excited to do some more hiking this weekend and bounce around the city in pursuit of my next favorite taco truck.

here are five favorite things i’m loving this month:

the downside of tidying up: when only new stuff sparks joy

HAPPY 2019! it’s hard to believe the new year is here and off to the races. this past year truly flew (as they always seem to) and it’s crazy to be jumping into new year new me mode already.

as i’m sure many of you did, i binged all of the new Marie Kondo Tidying Up episodes pretty much the minute they dropped (ok, not exactly at midnight on NYE, but like a few days after when i still wanted to deny that ‘holiday break’ was 100 percent over and it was time to be a real human again). i absolutely loved her book, and actually posted a bit about it in my closet makeover series here, so naturally i was super excited to see that she created a show around helping actual people get rid of all the (mostly) garbage they’ve been hoarding. SO satisfying.

roundup: holiday cookie hotlist

it's about that time to break out all that baking gear that you never use during the rest of the year. making holiday cookies is awesome, and i feel like it's one of those situations where the calories just don't count. maybe you're a seasoned holiday baking pro, or maybe you're like me and watch youtube tutorials, mess up your kitchen, get super frustrated and go down the street and buy store cookies and pretend you made them. either way, here are 10 holiday cookie recipes that we're super excited to attempt this season.

7 fresh and festive friendsgiving ideas you have to try

i’m spending some time back in the US right now for the holiday months, and with thanksgiving a week away it’s basically full-on holiday season mode here. since most of my stuff is in storage (RIP to my poor nespresso machine in the very, very back of the unit behind piles of boxes) and i’m crazy disorganized at the moment, sadly i won’t get to host a friendsgiving this year. that said, i’ve always loved the idea- and whether you’re planning to have a friendsgiving yourself or you’re just looking for some fresh ideas for this year’s thanksgiving, we rounded up some fresh and festive ideas to try.
