How To Decorate Small Spaces - Small Apartment Design and Decor Tips from a Vintage Lover in NYC

If you too find yourself perpetually on the hunt for ideas on how to decorate small spaces, today’s video is all about small apartment design and decor tips from my lovely cousin Paige’s Manhattan apartment.

This episode got me thinking - about fitting it all in - or not - at home and in life in general...

As we find ourselves somehow already enveloped in the days immediately following Halloween - which we've all by now collectively agreed mark the grand kickoff to holiday season madness - it seems like an appropriate time to start panicking about everything we need to get done before the end of the year.

Fitting it all in - or accepting that we simply can't fit it all in - is, in a roundabout way, the subject of this week's brand new YouTube video all about How To Decorate Small Spaces. We spent some time hanging with my lovely cousin, Paige, in her gorgeous NYC apartment to find out how she makes the most of her 750 square feet.

Making a video all about maximizing your space got me thinking about this incoming season of maximalism and all its demands on our time, space, sanity, bank accounts, and so on. I love this time of year dearly, but I can't help but suspect that some of those small space tips might actually be extremely relevant when it comes to our calendar, or our headspace - and the ever-increasingly small amount of space left in them.

The limited amount of time and headspace we all have can only handle so much, but it feels like we're constantly trying to fit as much as we possibly can, especially this time of year.

So in the spirit of Small Space Tip #3 from this week's video - Define Your Priorities and Decide What's Most Important To You - I'm aiming to apply this same principle in more than one place this season.

That means I'll probably drop the ball on booking the holiday flights in the perfect price window (it's November, clearly I already have), and probably won't get around to doing anything about the post-apocalyptic scene that is my garage for the 7th month in a row. But life doesn't really fit together in tidy Tetris rows, so that's gonna have to be good enough for now.
