White Wine Summer Sangria Recipe

Summer is here and the sundresses and sangria are flowin’! Whether you’re looking for a pre-dinner drink or a luscious libation for a summer bash, we’ve got the perfect recipe.

Packed with fresh fruit and topped with a splash of club soda, this white wine sangria recipe offers the perfect reprieve for a hot day. One of the things I love most about this recipe is that it’s not too sweet, especially if you pick a dry white wine like Sauvingnon Blanc. Another bonus? You can make this exact recipe with red wine and it’s just as delicious. I made a pitcher of each for a family gathering, and it did not last long!

Blueberry Rosemary Spritz Cocktail

Since quarantine started back in 2020, I’d be lying if I said that our liquor cabinet hasn’t grown quite a bit.

Hey guys, Courtney here. This past weekend, the weather in NYC exceeded 90 degrees, which meant that fruity spritzers replaced heavy IPAs and sundresses replaced sweatpants.

Made with fresh blueberries, rosemary, vodka, lemon, simple syrup, and club soda, this cocktail is refreshing and delicious sans the insane amount of sugar that my usual go-tos come with (although I am always down for a pina colada).

Thanksgiving Dessert Recipe: Pumpkin Cake Bars With Cream Cheese Frosting

Whether you’re celebrating solo or are able to safely gather with a small group, it’s no secret that Thanksgiving will look different this year. But that doesn’t mean we have to skimp on classic traditions like pumpkin-filled treats, turkey fatigue, and football.

Courtney here — and today I’m making small-batch pumpkin cake bars with cream cheese frosting. 2020 has been the year of small-batch desserts for me. Since it’s been just my fiancé and I for most of the year, I felt like it really only made sense to scale back on the food waste and make only what we could realistically eat.

The Easiest Charred Brussels Sprouts Salad

For some reason, a shredded brussels sprouts salad always feels more elevated than a regular salad. I make this charred brussels, radish and apple salad for EVERY single gathering and people are always obsessed with it, so I’m excited to share the super easy and quick recipe here.

Another reason I love this salad is that all the veggies are all shaved thin and get super crispy and delicious under the broiler. It’s also delicious right out of the oven or cold as leftovers the next day, making it a really perfect meal prep for lunches during the week.

Easy Lemon Puff Pastry Recipe

Spring is finally here! The weather in NYC is starting to get warmer and I’ve officially put away my winter coat for the season (although I have been known to wear my winter hat well into April…).

Courtney here! In addition to putting away my winter clothes, I transitioned from baking rich, chocolatey cakes and pumpkin pies to light, fresh pastries and fruity treats. I’m doing all I can to channel warm weather and the hope of a more “normal” summer, so today I’m making an easy lemon pastry.

Made with puff pastry and homemade lemon curd, these mini delicacies make for a perfect Easter dessert or a citrusy treat with your morning Joe. Interestingly enough, I used to hate lemon treats, and all of a sudden, I’m craving them. They say your taste buds change every seven years or so, so if that’s true, it looks like mine are ready for a change. If you too are ready to channel all the spring vibes, try out this delicious lemon pastry recipe.

Healthy Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Recipe

Craving something sweet with your morning coffee? Try our recipe for whole wheat chocolate chip banana bread. There are three types of breakfast people: Team Sweet, Team Savory, and Team I Don’t Have Time.

As a former chronic alarm snoozer, I used to be Team I Don’t Have Time — but, I’ve recently realized how much more energy I have when I make time to eat breakfast in the morning. With that said, I definitely find myself on Team Sweet more often than savory.

Valentine's Day Dessert: Red Velvet Cake for Two

Whether you’re partnered up or single and ready to mingle, there’s one thing we know for certain— it’s not Valentine’s Day unless you’re indulging in something sweet.

Kate and Courtney here. This year, we wanted to make a V-Day treat that packed a punch but didn’t result in loads of leftovers. After perusing Pinterest for recipe ideas, we settled on a Red Velvet Cake for Two.

Although the final appearance wasn’t necessarily The Great British Baking Show-worthy, the flavor did not disappoint. This light, creamy, velvety confection makes an ideal Valentine’s Day dessert.

Easy Espresso Martini Recipe (Dairy-Free!)

Have you ever found yourself simultaneously in need of a pick-me-up and an excuse to get a little drunk? Of course you have, which is why we’re sharing our favorite dairy-free espresso martini recipe today.

This non-dairy espresso martini recipe is our go-to when it’s happy hour o’clock but we’re also borderline too tired to participate. It’s delicious, easy to make, and absolutely nothing like a red bull vodka.

It’s also free of any heavy cream or dairy, which sometimes makes a drink like this a little too rich for me. The result is a perfect libation for your next girl’s night, date night, or literally any occasion ever.

Halloween Royal Icing Sugar Cookies

of all the wonderful things the fall season brings, the sweets are one of my favorites!

a few years back, I got really interested in royal icing and cookie decorating, and started to watch tutorials so I could do it myself.

it allows me to explore two of my passions at once: baking and art. oh, and also eating.

i have nowhere near perfected the art of cookie decorating, but they sure do taste good.

Homemade Banana Oat Granola Bars

Hey, everyone — Courtney here! Raise your hand if you promise yourself that you’ll give yourself enough time to eat a solid breakfast in the morning and then actually never do.

I definitely do this, and always end up snagging a granola bar on my way out the door.

Since most of my favorite granola bars either taste like chocolate candy or cost $3 per bar, I decided to start making my own.

Lightly sweetened with mashed banana and honey, these whole wheat banana oat bars are the perfect on-the-go breakfast. My fiancé and I have actually been eating them for dessert, too :)

Whole Wheat Strawberry Banana Muffins

Even though it might not feel like it right now, summer is coming! Lately, I’ve been dreaming of sundresses, strawberry fields, and sparkling rosé on the porch.

Hey guys, Courtney here. As someone who lives for summer, I’ve been trying to bring all the warm-weather vibes to my 700 square-foot apartment — from my kitchen to my closet.

This past weekend, I had three overly ripe bananas just waiting to be transformed into some comfort food, so I found some frozen whole strawberries in the freezer and decided to make a batch of muffins.

Vegan Banana Blondie Recipe

It’s officially fall! Not sure how we got here, but PSLs are back on the menu, football has returned, and my sweaters have come out of hiding.

Courtney here — and today I’m making a sweet, comforting vegan treat — banana blondies. While these don’t necessarily scream fall, my dreams of making pumpkin chai cookies were crushed when I found out my Whole Foods hasn’t stocked pumpkin yet. I guess the universe is telling me to savor summer a little longer.

Thankfully, I had three very ripe bananas left over from last week’s grocery haul. I tried to make a slight departure from my normal bread and muffin recipes and make some blondies — essentially brownies sans the cocoa powder.

Chocolate Cake Recipe For Two

It’s no secret that birthday celebrations look a little different this year.

For the past two years, we’ve celebrated my fiancé’s birthday at our favorite DC bar with a giant group of friends. But given the whole pandemic situation and the fact that we moved to Manhattan, that wasn’t really an option this year.

This one-bowl, cocoa-filled, buttercream-topped indulgence is the perfect birthday dessert. Made with two six-inch cake rounds, it’s just the right size for two people.

This Churro French Toast Kit is Our New Obsession

More specifically, I’m talking about this Homemade Churro French Toast Kit that my good friend Jeremy Fall created in collaboration with Mr. Holmes Bakehouse. Healthy Baked Buffalo Cauliflower Wings

Being a midwestern girl at heart, I will never not have a weakness for any and everything buffalo. Growing up in Ohio, buffalo wings are kind of a major food group (or so it seems to me), and they are without a doubt both me and my husband Brett’s favorite guilty pleasure indulgence.

I’ve been wanting to come up with a go-to recipe for a healthy take on fried chicken wings that would still hit the spot when we’re both craving comfort food forever, and I think I’ve finally nailed it. Today I’m super excited to share my recipe for Healthy Baked Buffalo Cauliflower Wings with you!

I’ve made these a lot lately and they are honestly SO. GOOD. They definitely don’t disappoint in the way that some healthy takes I’ve tried in the past tend to.
